With mobile data traffic continuing to grow, operators are constantly expanding network capacity through Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) and unlicensed LTE (LTE-U). The 5100–5900 MHz band, as a key component of the 5 GHz unlicensed spectrum, is widely used in LTE-U/LAA small cells, indoor coverage and wireless broadband access equipment.

Qorvo QPA9501 Product Overview
The QPA9501 is a high-power amplifier module that integrates an internally matched three-stage power amplifier (PA), a DC bias compensation circuit and an output power detector. This PA module is optimised for the 5.1–5.9 GHz Wi-Fi band, making it ideally suited for LTE-U applications. At an output power (Pout) of 22 dBm whilst processing a 20 MHz LTE signal, the module delivers high gain (32 dB) and an ACLR of –47 dBc without the need for any digital pre-distortion (DPD). The QPA9501 features control voltages compatible with chipset logic, as well as a buffered power amplifier enable pin (PAEN); all of these exhibit extremely low current consumption, making it easy to use and compatible with current and future generations of transceivers. Thanks to its optimised power consumption design, this amplifier module is ideally suited for next-generation MIMO configurations and is designed to support both digital pre-distortion (DPD) and DPD-free operating modes. The QPA9501 is housed in a compact 4.0 × 4.0 × 0.85 mm 20-pin QFN package.
